Barker’s Island Farmers’ Market is planting itself in a new location for one day only to make room for the Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival. On Saturday, the market will be held in the north parking lot of the Superior Public Library from 8 a.m. to noon. An abundance of fresh produce from local farms and gardens is currently available. Tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, beans and corn are at their peak. Local honey, maple syrup, jams, artisan mustards and baked goods are some of the other items found at the market along with homemade natural soap, plants and garden crafts. The market returns to Barker’s Island on Sept. 1 and is open every Saturday morning through October.
