At 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Superior police officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident that resulted in the injury of a pedestrian, according to a release from Superior Police Chief Charles LaGesse. The accident occurred at the intersection of Broadway Street and Hughitt Avenue. The victim in this accident, a 61-year-old male from Superior, has died as a result of his injuries. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.
Witnesses to the accident describe a dark colored four-door sedan, similar to a mid-1990s Lincoln Continental. The driver of the suspect vehicle did not stop at the scene and continued westbound on Broadway Street before turning southbound onto Banks Avenue. The suspect’s vehicle is likely to have damage to the grill, hood and possibly the windshield area.
