Benefit specialist recognized for excellence

Pat Nelson, Senior Connections elder benefit specialist, attended the annual conference and meeting of the Wisconsin Association of Benefit Specialists last month in Green Bay.

Nelson received a certificate of Recognition for Excellence as a local community resource. She provides information, advocacy and assistance to Douglas County residents age 60 and older with public and private benefits. Pat especially likes to meet with people who may be eligible for Medicare Savings Programs and Extra Help with prescription drugs.

If your gross income before deductions as a single person is less than $1,396 per month, you may be eligible for one of these money saving programs. For a household of two the income limit is $1,891. Asset limits also apply.

There is no charge for this service but donations to Senior Connections are welcome and encouraged.
