Rice Lake teacher guilty of sex with two boys

A former female teacher in the Rice Lake school district was convicted Tuesday in Barron County Court of two counts of sexual assault of two teenage boys.

Andrea L. Ebert, 31, of Cameron pleaded guilty to a felony count of sexual assault of a student by a school staff member and a misdemeanor count of sexual intercourse with child older than 16.

She is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 6, when she faces a maximum penalty of three years in prison. She was scheduled for trial Sept. 21.

District Attorney Angela Beranek declined to comment on the case, as did defense attorney Aaron Nelson of New Richmond.

It is possible Ebert will be on the sex offender registry for the rest of her life, and she likely won't be eligible to teach again.

Ebert was accused of having sexual intercourse and sending nude photos of herself to two teenage boys late last year. Ebert was a middle school special education teacher.

Jaden Ebert, 32, of Cameron filed for divorce from her in February. At a family court hearing last week Andrea Ebert indicated she would be using the last name of Satrom.

According to court records:

An 18-year-old told police that Ebert sent nude photos of herself to him about 15 times over several months, including a time when he was 17. The teen told police he told Ebert he was concerned that Ebert may get in trouble for her activities, but she replied, "If you guys keep your mouth shut, we don't have anything to worry about."

The teen said he had sexual intercourse with Ebert in December and twice in January at her Barron residence. Ebert told police she had sex twice with the teen.

A 17-year-old boy told police he had sexual intercourse with Ebert at her Cameron residence in November, and had sexual contact with her again a few weeks later.

The boy also said Ebert was drinking at a tavern in Rice Lake and text-messaged him about needing a ride. He said he gave her a ride, and she later text-messaged him several nude photos of herself.

Ebert told police she texted about 10 nude photos of herself to the teens.
