CHILTON, Wis. (AP) — A Chilton woman accused of inflicting "repeated, severe physical abuse" on her 3-year-old son will be back in court Thursday.

Twenty-six-year-old Kristin Hidde is accused of causing injuries that a doctor says are consistent with "massive multiple blows or kicks to the genital and abdominal area." Hidde is charged in Calumet County with two felony counts of child abuse. She's also accused of also abusing her 6-year-old son.

Dr. Alice Swenson, of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, told police the amount of force used to inflict the injuries on the 3-year-old could have killed him.

The Appleton Post-Crescent reports a judge has rejected Hidde's request to reduce her $10,000 bond.
