Two benefit kickball tournaments are planned for Saturday

Two benefit kickball tournaments are taking place in the area on Saturday.

One is the “Ricky McDermott Kick A.L.S. Kickball Tournament” at the Maple ballpark (on Highway F).

The tournament begins at noon and includes music at 6 p.m. and a pig roast at 5 p.m.

Teams include four girls and five guys and the cost is $50 per team.

Circle Pines in Wascott will also be holding its 11th annual Hospice Cancer Fundraiser.

This year’s event is called “Kick the balls out of Testicular Cancer.”

The tournament, which is at the Wascott ballpark, includes food, a dunk tank, door prizes, silent auction and games.
