One in custody, one at large after home invasion

One suspect has been arrested and another is being sought in connection with a home invasion robbery on Sunday, according to the Superior Police Department.

The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Hughitt Avenue.

According to police:

Three people were in the residence when two black males knocked on the back door. When the people inside opened the door, the suspects rushed into their home and committed robbery. A handgun was displayed during the robbery.

Two male occupants of the home were ordered to the floor and at least one had the gun held to their head by one of the suspects. The third victim, a woman, was ordered into a bedroom; one of the suspects eventually forced her into the bedroom and secured her there.

Various personal items were removed from the victims including a wallet, cell phones, identification cards and car keys. The suspects then left the residence and attempted to get inside one of the victim’s vehicles. The alarm was activated and the suspects fled.

Trent W. Anderson, 22, of Superior was located and interviewed by police, Superior Deputy Chief Nicholas Alexander said. He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on a charge of being a party to an armed robbery.

He’s facing felony charges of burglary-armed with a dangerous weapon; armed robbery with threat of force; and three counts of false imprisonment in Douglas County Circuit Court.

He is being held on $10,000 cash bail.

The second suspect remains at large, according to police, who were following up on leads Thursday. He is described as a light-skinned black male, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 with a possibly shaved head. The suspect also had tattoos on both arms as wells as the neck and chest area, and is possibly armed with a handgun and should be considered dangerous.
