Sports Echoes - July 25

Bob Joanis hit a home run in the last of the seventh inning for the Eagles to tie a Classic Softball League game with the Knights of Columbus at 4-4 and send the game into extra innings. But the KC team scored four runs in the eighth inning to win going away, 8-4. Glenn Reed’s two-run homer for Great Lakes Storage was the big blow of a game, but his team ended up on the losing end of a 9-4 score with Carmen’s Local 811. (1951)

The team of Dave Wedan-Bruce Borgh took the title in the two-man best ball league at the Lake Nebagamon Golf Course. Second place went to Paul Lagae-Volmer Anderson, winners of the playoff with Bill Law-Rick Thrasher. (1976)
