Minnesota man arrested after high speed chase in Burnett County
A 27-year-old Minnesota man was arrested Monday evening after a high-speed chase, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
A 27-year-old Minnesota man was arrested Monday evening after a high-speed chase, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Around 5:50 p.m., a state patrol trooper attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Christopher Lee Stensgard of Cottage Grove for a traffic violation.
According to a news release issued by the state patrol:
Stensgard attempted to flee at a high rate of speed, then left his vehicle and four passengers. He then jumped into Clam Lake in an apparent attempt to swim across the lake.
The Burnett County Sheriff’s Department and North Ambulance were called to assist at the scene.
Stensgard was apprehended and transported to the Burnett County Jail. He was charged with fleeing, possession of methamphetamines and possession of a stolen vehicle.
