EAGLE, Wis. (AP) — Kids will get a chance to dress up like one of their favorite "Little House on the Prairie" characters at a Wisconsin historical museum next month.

Old World Wisconsin will hold "Laura Ingalls Wilder Days: Bonnets, Britches, Tractors and Hitches" on Aug. 4 and Aug. 5. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in pioneer life, including jumping in the hay, doing the laundry with tubs and clotheslines, working in a wagon shop and making hand-cranked ice cream.

Other activities include spelling bees, chair-weaving and look-alike contests for children who dress up as characters from the "Little House" series.

Old World Wisconsin comprises more than 65 historic buildings relocated from around the state and represents the material and cultural history of nearly a dozen ethnic groups. It's located outside Eagle.
