The Shell Lake Arts Center is looking for candidates for the John Frischmann Memorial Scholarship, a $250 scholarship for a young to attend Acting and Playwriting Camp the week of July 29-Aug. 3.

The Arts Center requests nominees not registered for the camp at Shell Lake.

John Frischmann was an avid supporter of the arts and the Shell Lake Arts Center.

New York City actor Eric Mark Olson leads Acting and Playwriting camp.

Students study vocal production, stage presence, body language and personalizing characters. They also learn about the basics of auditions and rehearsals, and spend the week writing their own show.

The program is for every budding actor, whether they have experience or not.

“For those who have ever sung in choir, painted a picture, gone dancing or stood on stage and acted out a story, you will know first-hand that the arts have the power to heal, teach, inspire, and grow amazing young human beings,” Olson said.

For information or nominate a student, call the Arts Center office at (715) 468-2414.
