The Bill Downs Jr. Memorial Golf Scramble to benefit the Humane Society of Douglas County will be held Aug. 8 at Nemadji Golf Course. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a shot-gun start at noon.
Cost is $200 for a five-person team. The entry fee includes registration packet, dinner, proximity and door prizes, team awards and picture. Green fees and carts may be purchased from the Pro Shop.
Teams will be arranged if participants don’t have enough players.

Team and sponsorship information, along with checks payable to HSDC, must be submitted by July 31.
All proceeds from the event will assist in the building of the new animal shelter for homeless animals in Superior and Douglas County.
Bill Downs Jr. would have would turned 80 on Aug. 9.
