Como helps regional businesses reduce costs by converting their vehicles to run on propane
Como Oil and Propane has joined the Alliance AutoGas partner network, an organization focused on helping business owners save money and reduce their carbon footprint by converting their vehicles to running on propane.
Como Oil and Propane, one of the region’s largest, locally-owned heating fuel providers, has joined the Alliance AutoGas partner network, an organization focused on helping business owners save money and reduce their carbon footprint by converting their vehicles to running on propane.
Alliance AutoGas has been globally accepted as a clean alternative to gas and diesel for some time but recently has been gaining momentum in the United States.
“Nationally we are seeing bus companies, school districts, taxi cab fleets, police, and other municipality departments converting their fleets to propane,” said Will Norman, Como’s chief operating officer. “Como will now be able to offer this money-saving technology to fleet owners in our region.”
To test the cost savings for themselves, Como recently converted two delivery trucks, a service truck and their boom truck, used for setting propane tanks, to running on propane. This is just the beginning as Como moves to convert their entire fleet of vehicles over the next few years.
“By bringing clean fuel technology to our regional marketplace we will help fleet owners cut costs, reduce their impact on the environment and since AutoGas is American made, reduce our country’s dependence on foreign oil,” said Norman. “Como is proud to be putting our 66 years of propane knowledge to use by offering yet another propane solution to area businesses.”
In addition to helping fleet owners convert their engines without any upfront costs, as an Alliance AutoGas partner, Como will be able to help fleet owners install AutoGas fuel stations, provide data integration for fuel management systems, offer safety, training and ongoing support for fleet owners.
Como Oil and Propane is the region’s largest full-service heating fuel supplier, providing propane, oil and related services to Northland customers through five offices in Minnesota: Duluth, Barnum, Hibbing, Two Harbors and Grand Marais and four offices in Wisconsin: Tower, Ashland, Cable and Minong.
