Rock leads Catholic Charities Bureau
The Most Reverend Peter F. Christensen, Bishop of the Diocese of Superior, has announced the appointment of Alan Rock as executive director of Catholic Charities Bureau Inc., effective Jan. 10, when Brian Soland retires after 41 years with the diocese.
The Most Reverend Peter F. Christensen, Bishop of the Diocese of Superior, has announced the appointment of Alan Rock as executive director of Catholic Charities Bureau Inc., effective Jan. 10, when Brian Soland retires after 41 years with the diocese.
Rock serves as associate director of Catholic Charities Bureau and comptroller of the Challenge Center Inc., an affiliate agency of Catholic Charities Bureau. Prior to coming to Catholic Charities in 1997, Rock held positions with U.S. Filter in Minneapolis and Concern Care Inc. in Kansas City, Mo. As an active community volunteer, he has served as president of the Superior Rotary Club and he’s an active leader with the Boy Scouts of America.
“We’re most pleased to have a professional of Mr. Rock’s integrity and devotion to our mission serving as our new executive director,” said Bishop Christensen in announcing the appointment.
Rock and his family are members of St. Michael’s Parish in Duluth. He and his wife Stephanie have four children, Derek, Karl, Simon and Faith.
