“We are pleased to honor Jack for his winning essay and his academic achievements,” said Al Raffetto, Superior Rotary Club President.
“Jack’s essay describes how our Rotary Four-Way Test is exemplified through his volunteer work with the Superior Youth Football League,” Raffetto said. “The Rotary Four-Way Test asks members consider: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? His essay reflects his commitment to helping young people gain sport skills, make friends, build strong relationships and demonstrates the positive results for those who participate, those who volunteer, and for the community.”
Bergum, a National Merit Scholar, plans to attend the University of Oklahoma next fall to study pre-law and continue his studies at law school. He is the son of Kelly and Kent Bergum.
Each year the Superior Rotary Club awards two scholarships to students graduating from Superior High School. Information is available from school counselors. Visit www.superiorrotary.com.
