LETTER: Lies won’t endear voters

To the Telegram: It’s strike three for Congressional Democrats.

To the Telegram:

It’s strike three for Congressional Democrats.

The nonpartisan news organization Politifact recently came out with its first rating of Pat Kreitlow, the Democrat candidate for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District. Kreitlow said, “Duffy voted twice to end Medicare.” Politifact’s findings: “Kreitlow’s statement is false and ridiculous, “Pants on Fire.”

In 2010, Congressman Sean Duffy’s challenger made a similar charge and was slapped with the first “Pants on Fire” rating. Strike one.

In 2011, Democrats continued this attack, asserting the House Republican, or ‘Ryan’ budget, would kill Medicare. Politifact rated the liberal talking point as “Lie of the Year.” Strike two.

Now we are facing another election in 2012, and the Democrats and Pat Kreitlow swing and miss with strike three. Perhaps Pat needs a little more practice in telling the truth before we trust him with our vote.
