Beverly J. TePoel, 79, Iron River, former longtime Maple area resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
Beverly J. TePoel, 79, Iron River, former longtime Maple area resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
She was born on April 18, 1933 in Cable, Wis. to Lloyd and Ada (Estep) Denman.
She graduated from high school.
Bev married Leo TePoel on December 3, 1955 and celebrated 57 years of marriage. She was a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated the family farm in Maple before retiring to Iron River.
She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and the Rebekah Lodge in Iron River.
She liked doing craftwork such as scrapbooking, jewelry making and crocheting. Bev also enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, cooking, baking, fishing and going for pontoon rides on the Iron River.
She is survived by her husband Leo; four daughters, Patricia (Keith) Borgh, Superior, Collette (Robert) Adolfson, Milwaukee, Wis., Pamela (Mark) Mohr, Maple, Traci Garrison, Bennett; two sons, Edward "Skip" (Maiden) Carignan, Magna, Utah, Jon (Tracy) TePoel, Maple; 19 grandchildren, Chad, Chris, Craig, Troy, Carley, Eric, Trinda, Daylena, Judd, Ashley, Sheena, Shane, Shilo, Lukas, Haylee, Lexi, Colton, Brandi and Michael; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara (Harvey) Anderson, Iron River, Judy (Jeff) Hanson, Superior; three brothers, Jerry (Sable) Denman, Louisiana, Elwood (Beverly) Denman, Arkansas, Bob (Muriel) Denman, Ashland, Wis. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Brandon TePoel and one sister, Frances Johnson.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday, July 2 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with a scripture service scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Michael Catholic Church in Iron River with Rev. Michael Crisp, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren, Chad Williams, Christopher Harris, Troy Adolfson, Shane Salo, Shilo Rutzen, Lukas Garrison and Colton TePoel. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Eric Adolfson, Craig Harris, Judd Carignan and Ashley Carignan.
