Erik Demetrius White, 25, of Superior was taken into custody in Duluth late Thursday, according to Superior Police Capt. Nick Alexander.

White faces felony charges of domestic abuse/substantial battery and bail jumping in Douglas County Circuit Court. He is accused of battering a woman in a parking lot June 16. He made his initial appearance in court Monday and posted a cash bond of $1,000 with the condition he have no contact with the victim. His next court date is July 11.

The Superior Police Department sent out a release Thursday asking for the community’s help to locate White. They are also seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

At about 1 a.m. June 16, police responded to a parking lot in the 500 block of Tower Avenue, according to a department news release. An adult female had been severely beaten and was bleeding from large cuts to her head. Information was given to police that the victim’s jaw was also broken during the attack.

The bail jumping charge stems from a previous order than White was previously court ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Superior Police Department by calling 911. The department also has an anonymous voice message tip line at (715) 395-7468.
