World of Outlaw Late Models invade Superior Friday night
The World of Outlaw Late Model Series will be making a visit to AMSOIL Speedway in Superior Friday night.
A $10,000 first-place prize from a total purse of nearly $50,000 will make the 50-lapper the one of the richest dirt late model events in the history of the track.
“This is going to be an incredible race for AMSOIL Speedway, our fans and all of our race teams,” said Joe Stariha, who is a board member at AMSOIL Speedway. “We’re excited to bring in the World of Outlaws again after a short hiatus, our fans are extremely excited to see them and our local drivers are excited to have a chance to run against them. I personally fly to Florida most winters to see these guys race and I can’t wait to have some of the hottest drivers in the United States, right here in our backyard.”
The nationally-renowned World of Outlaw Late Model Series will be in Superior as part of race No. 1 of six races on the Wild West Tour, which brings an all-star group of cars from all over the United States with them.
Current point leader Darrell Lanigan from Union, Kent., will be on hand, as will Rick Eckert, Tim McCreadie, Chub Frank, Shane Clanton, Bub McCool, Clint Smith, Vic Coffey, last year’s WOO Rookie of the Year Pat Doar from New Richmond, Tim Fuller, Kent Robinson, Jack Sullivan, Brady Smith, Jimmy Mars and Brian Birkhofer just to name a few.
The World of Outlaw Late Models will be hot lapping their 1,000 horsepower, over 100 mph late models starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday and time trials will begin at 7 p.m.
Also part of the program will be Midwest Modifieds and the AMSOIL Speedway Pure Stocks will be running for a very enhanced purse as part of the 2nd annual Pure Adrenaline Race.
Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $15 for 6-12-year-olds and 5-and-under are free.
