As the community’s local health care provider, Essentia Health St. Mary’s is called upon to help others on a daily basis.

On the night of June 19, we were in the precarious position of seeking help, as the lower level of our building was inundated with water from the devastating rainstorm. Like many businesses and residences in our community on that evening, our sump pumps could not keep up with the rainwater — our drain lines were overwhelmed.

While many of our staff spent the night here to maintain our building’s integrity, we did receive support from two local community businesses.

Roger Lindquist of East End Hardware supplied us with additional pumps, responding to a call we made to his home well after his store was closed. Additionally, several staff from the Jamar Company (who were on site for a project) joined our staff and helped with cleanup efforts well into the next morning. We would like to recognize both these business for going above and beyond the call of duty to come to our assistance.

facilities manager,

Essentia Health Superior
