Nelson captures Late Models feature at AMSOIL Speedway

Darrell Nelson of Hermantown maintained the lead after two cautions and went on to win the WISSOTA Late Models race Friday night at Amsoil Speedway, Nelson’s 12th feature win at the race track.

Nelson held off Harry Hanson and Tom Waseleski Jr. for the victory.

Kelly Estey of Kelly Lake defeated his son, Skeeter, by a car length to win the WISSOTA Modifieds division; Deven VanHouse of Silver Bay held off Brady Caul by a car length in the Midwest Modifieds; Duluth’s Mike Bellefeuille won his second WISSOTA Super Stocks feature of the season and 21st of his career; and Jeff Engelmeier of Saginaw benefited from winner Mark Smith being disqualified in the Pure Stocks feature for a post-race issue with his car’s carburetor.
