A battery suspect Superior Police sought community help to find has been arrested. Erik Demetrius White, 25, of Superior was taken into custody in Duluth late Thursday, according to Capt. Nick Alexander with the Superior Police Department.
White faces felony counts of domestic abuse/substantial battery and bail jumping in Douglas County Circuit Court, according to online court records. He is accused of battering a woman in a parking lot on June 16. The Superior Police Department sent out a release Thursday asking for the community’s help to locate White. They are also seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
At about 1 a.m. June 16, police responded to a parking lot in the 500 block of Tower Avenue, according to a department release. An adult female had been severely beaten and was bleeding from large cuts to her head. Information was given to police that the victim’s jaw was also broken during the attack. The bail jumping charge stems from the fact that White was previously ordered by the court to have no contact with the victim.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Superior Police Department by calling 911. The department also has an anonymous voice message tip line at (715) 395-7468.
