Superior Police are investigating two robberies that took place within 10 minutes of each other early Tuesday morning.
At about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the Superior Walgreens store, 2015 Tower Ave., for a robbery that had just taken place, according to a news release issued by Superior Police Capt. Nick Alexander. A lone female had entered the store and snatched money from the cash register before fleeing the building. An immediate search of the area did not turn up any suspect or evidence.
About nine minutes later, a robbery call came from the Hammond Spur convenience store, 502 Hammond Ave. The description of the suspect matched the suspect in the Walgreens robbery. However, there was a second female accomplice in this robbery.
In both robberies, the suspect pretended to be making a purchase at the checkout counter and once the clerk opened the register the suspect grabbed the money. No weapon was involved during either robbery and no one was injured.
A small amount of cash was taken from both businesses, according to police.
Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the Superior Police Department tipline, (715) 395-7468, report it on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SuperiorPD or www.ci.superior.
