If you like the arts, Seeley, Wis. is the place for you July 7.

The Namekagon Art & Music Festival is jam-packed with activities for art lovers of all ages. The Mooselips Festival Grounds on Highway 63 will feature more than 30 artist booths displaying fine jewelry, painting, fiber art, sculpture and more. The free festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This festival invites everyone to participate in the arts. Buy a wine glass for $5 and paint a special decoration on it. Buy a tee shirt for $10 ($8 children) and create a custom tie-dye design. Children 5 and older can paint on tiles at the kids’ art tent. There will also be a poetry jam. Pick up your words at noon and then create your own poem which you will read later that afternoon.

New this year — see how they do it! At the artist demonstration tent, visitors can watch artists throughout the day as they work on their crafts.

Festival entertainment begins at 10:30 a.m. with Jason Rabuck followed by Take 3 at 12:30 p.m. and the Namakagon String Band at 3 p.m. The music runs the gamut from traditional, Celtic and folk to rock and blues.

This year there will be a special drawing for a $100 Visa card. No purchase is necessary and all visitors can register to win. A variety of food and beverages are also available to purchase on the grounds.

As an added attraction: Prior to the festival, there’s a 5k walk/run on the Seeley trails. This run starts at 9 a.m. and is sponsored by CXC. The cost is $20 for pre-registration or $25 on the day of the race.

The Namekagon Art & Music Festival is sponsored by the Cable-Hayward Area Arts Council. For information, go to cablehaywardarts.org
