Five teens face felony burglary charges after breaking into the La Crosse Speedway and stealing beer.

Speedway manager Chuck Deery reported the theft early Sunday morning after catching the suspects on a security camera, installed after several incidents of people breaking into the cooler, according to criminal complaints.

The tapes showed four boys making three trips to the cooler as they took about 19 cases of beer; investigators determined a fifth waited by his car as a lookout. They unscrewed a motion-activated light to avoid detection.

The suspects later admitted taking 30 to 40 cases, according to complaints.

Nineteen-year-olds Chase Wilker and Joshua Romskog, both of West Salem, and 18-year-olds Presley Stemper, Jack Bauman and Tyler Randall, all of La Crosse, were charged Tuesday with party to the crime burglary and misdemeanor theft.
