East Central Energy distributed more than $60,000 in scholarships this spring to graduating high school seniors and community college students.

The scholarships demonstrate ECE’s commitment to community and helping local youth succeed. The recipients were selected by their school based on academic achievement, financial need and community service.

The cooperative also recently awarded scholarships to four students in its At Large category. Non-traditional students, seasonal ECE members, and high school seniors enrolled in private educational institutions in ECE’s service territory are eligible to apply for the At Large scholarships.

Briana Long, Pine City, Minn.; Andrew Radzak, Superior; Chelsea Jannett, Andover, Minn.; and Kate Shelerud, Duluth, will each receive $500 to help them continue their education.
