Seventeen-year-old Richard Erron Larsen of Superior has been charged with felony counts of attempt armed robbery with use of force and aggravated battery in Douglas County Circuit Court.
Larsen had an altercation with his cousin, Joseph Bennett, while driving on Tower Avenue, according to a news release issued by Superior Police Capt. Nick Alexander.
Bennett, a Duluth resident, was a passenger in the vehicle. He claims Larsen demanded all his money. When Bennett refused, Larsen reportedly stabbed him multiple times with a small knife. The incident took place in the vehicle and Larsen fled the scene once the vehicle stopped. Bennett’s wife was driving at the time. A fourth person, a friend of Larsen’s, was also in the vehicle and fled with the teen. At this point, the release stated, the friend does not appear to be involved in the physical altercation.
Bennett was treated and released from a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
