Calvin faces drug, theft charges after heroin bust

One of two men arrested in conjunction with the discovery of nearly $40,000 worth of heroin in Superior last week is facing felony charges in Douglas County Circuit Court.
Leroy Leneer Calvin, 28, of Superior faces one count of possession with intent to deliver heroin and one count of theft-movable property. He made an initial appearance in court Thursday. Cash bond was set at $10,000. A preliminary hearing is set for today.
According to the complaint:
Police received a tip that two Superior men were in possession of a large amount of heroin and two handguns at an address in Superior. They discovered 107.64 grams of heroin and both guns at the residence. One of the handguns had been reported stolen out of Carlton County, according to the criminal complaint. The two suspects, Calvin and Demetrius Vershaun Bowen, 21, were stopped in a vehicle near a residence on the 1700 block of Hughitt Avenue.
Investigators from the Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office helped in the investigation.
