The second presentation, “Guenard’s Candy Story,” by the Douglas County Historical Society on June 3 was again a huge success. I again had the great honor in representing my father “Eddie” Guenard and Grandfather “Harry” as we walked down the sidewalk(s) of Superior on Thursday nights. My thanks to my sister Sharon (Guenard) Baertsch for again joining the presentation along with my wife Barbara, sons Scott and Kevin, and their families.
I thank the many wonderful folks who joined us to relive those many wonderful times with their special personal stories before, during and after the presentation. My continued thanks go to all the special folks at the historical society who spent so many hours making the replicas of a time gone by of a vibrant “Superior” downtown. I would urge all those who for whatever reason were unable to attend, that you stop by and view a time in our city that warmed the heart of all the families that walked and shopped on Thursday nights in the great downtown. My very best wishes and thanks to all.
