The Superior Reds American Legion baseball team defeated Hibbing 10-1 Friday afternoon in a quarterfinal game in the Land of the Loon Tournament in Virginia.
Tyler Long picked up the complete-game victory for the Reds, who improve to 3-1.
Sam Schiff led the Reds with three hits, including a two-run home run. Ryan Myhre added three hits, including a two-run single; Trent Olson also had three hits and Zach Magdzas had two.
The Reds are back in action at 5:30 p.m. Saturday against the winner of Friday’s game between Moose Lake and Marble.
The tournament runs through Sunday with a third-place and championship game.
