LAS VEGAS (AP) — Wayne Newton's landlord wants to evict the "Danke Shoen" singer's 51 Arabian horses.
CSD, LLC filed a motion on Tuesday to have the horses removed from Newton's 40-acre estate. CSD owns part of the land and had hoped to turn it into a tourist attraction, but is now locked in a legal battle with Newton over alleged breach of contract.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that a judge ruled Thursday that the horses may remain on the property.
In a court hearing in May, CSD's legal team argued that caring for the horses costs $40,000 each month. CSD wants the Newton family to vacate the property, but Newton says he no longer wants CSD to turn his home into Las Vegas's answer to Graceland.
CSD attorney Doreen Hartwell declined comment.
