Summer Theatre Camp at the University of Wisconsin-Superior offers students ranging from 6th to 12th grade an opportunity to learn acting and technical skills and to take part in a special theatre presentation.
Summer Theatre Camp runs from 12:30 to 5 p.m. weekdays Monday to June 22 in Holden Fine and Applied Arts Center at UW-Superior. Campers work with university faculty, local theatre professionals and university theatre students to learn acting techniques and gain hands-on experience in the university’s theaters, scene shop, costume shop, video labs and more.
At the end of the camp, students perform a special theatre presentation created during Summer Theatre Camp.
“This is a really fun opportunity for young people who love the art of theatre to learn acting and technical skills using our theaters and workshops,” said Cathy Fank, director of the University Theatre program at UW-Superior. “They can take part just for fun, or to prepare for theatre productions at their schools. Students who took part in last year’s camp can enroll again to learn more advanced techniques.”
Cost of the camp is $150. Enrollment is now open. Call Cathy Fank at (715) 394-8388 or email cfank@uwsuper.edu.
