If you weren’t around for the Superior Singers performance on Memorial Day concert at the Bong Center, you missed an excellent patriotic concert. The Bong was packed, standing room only. Brian MacDonnell directs this group of singers that work very hard to provide outstanding programs.
Brian has been volunteering his time for more than 20 years to work with these dedicated singers. This group puts on many concerts each year, including summer and holiday programs. Hats off to Brian and his leadership. When the singers sang “Salute to the Armed Forces,” they covered every branch of the military. Brian asked each veteran to stand and be recognized when the chorus was sung for their branch. There were many veterans proudly standing. It gave me “tears” and “chills” and I’m sure many others did, as well…including the singers.
The Richard I. Bong Museum may look small from the outside, but it is spacious on the inside, and has so much memorabilia. I toured for almost two hours and still probably missed things. It is very well-maintained, and is a first class operation.
So, once again, thank you Brian MacDonnell and the Superior Singers, along with the bong Museum. It made us all proud to be Americans.
If you can make one of the Superior Singer concerts, you will be in for a treat.
