NBC announces new CEO
Steven R. Burgess has been named chief executive officer at National Bank of Commerce. Burgess comes to the Twin Ports with 30 years of banking experience.
Steven R. Burgess has been named chief executive officer at National Bank of Commerce. Burgess comes to the Twin Ports with 30 years of banking experience.
Prior to joining the National Bank of Commerce, Burgess was president and CEO of State Bank Financial for 11 years in La Crosse, Wis. Before that, he was CEO of M&I Central Bank and Trust in Marshfield, Wis., for six years and CEO of First National Bank of Neillsville, Wis., for nine years.
“I am thrilled to join an organization with such a strong reputation,” Burgess said. “I look forward to working with National Bank of Commerce’s experienced management team and getting to know the customer base.”

With six local branches, National Bank of Commerce is the area’s largest, locally-owned bank with headquarters in Superior and bank locations in Duluth, Hermantown, Poplar and Solon Springs.
