Jail staff member under investigation

A Douglas County Jail employee is under investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department.
Chief Deputy Jerry Moe of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the personnel matter is being investigated and the jail staff member is on paid leave pending the results of the investigation.
Moe said an outside agency, Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department, is conducting the investigation, which was launched a couple of weeks ago.
He said he expects to receive the final report soon.
Sawyer County Chief Deputy Brigette Kornbroke declined to comment.
