Dennis D. Myer, 55, of Rice Lake, Wis., died Saturday, June 02, 2012, at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Dennis D. Myer, 55, of Rice Lake, Wis., died Saturday, June 02, 2012, at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1956, in Superior to Earl and Fern (nee, Stone) Myer. Dennis graduated from the Superior Senior High School and then attended UW-Superior. He worked for Georgia Pacific for 26 years as a laborer and operator; he did maintenance for Murphy Oil in Superior. Dennis was married to Melissa Moretto on Oct. 3, 2002, in Superior and they moved to Rice Lake in 2006. Presently Dennis worked for Marketplace Foods, the Rice Lake Bus Company and the Lake 7 Theatre.
He loved to hunt, fish, watch the Green Bay Packers and coach baseball and softball. Dennis made his family his No. 1 priority and did whatever his kids needed and also loved all of his nephews and nieces.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Myer and their five children, Jonathon Myer, Hannah Myer, Denny Myer, Ethan Myer and Neil Myer all of Rice Lake; mother, Fern Myer of Hayward, Wis.; six brothers, Earl (Nancy) Myer of Hayward, Jerry Myer of Hayward, Daryl (Michelle) Myer of Superior, Dale (Jeanne) Myer of Superior, Bill Stone of Spooner, Wis. and Dana (Dee) Stone of Brule, Wis.; 4 sisters, Rachel Weigand of Tucson, Ariz., Marjorie (Ralph) Metcalf of Riverton, Wyo., Norma Girard of Hayward, Wis. and Renee (Tom) Girard of Hayward; father-in-law, Mike Moretto of Superior; mother-in-law, Jean Breitung of Wascott, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Mike Moretto Jr; a sister-in-law, Jill (Byron) Dowd; and many many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Myer Sr.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7 from 11 a.m. until the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. at Red Cedar Community Church in Rice Lake, Rev. David Kelling officiating, with interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Superior. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Appleyard's Home for Funerals, 19 W. Messenger St., Rice Lake.
