SHAWANO, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is looking for volunteers to help with a research project involving fawns.
So far, more than 100 volunteers have captured and collared or ear-tagged 32 fawns in northern and eastern Wisconsin as part of the research project to learn more about the state's fawn population.
However, more volunteers are needed through next month in the Winter and Shawano areas.
Volunteers would help with capturing, weighing, radio-collaring and ear-tagging fawns. Researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison are also involved.
Those interested in volunteering can call deer researchers in Shawano at 920-373-3565 or in Winter at 608-219-0771.
