Lorraine F. Sislo, 85, of Superior, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at her residence.

Lorraine F. Sislo, 85, of Superior, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 14, 1926 in St. Paul, Minn., daughter of Benedict and Margaret (Zauner) Szeremeta.

Lorraine completed her nurses training in St. Paul, Minn. and worked as a registered nurse at the former St. Joseph's Hospital and former St. Mary's Hospital, both of Superior.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and its Altar Society, St. Francis Travelers Club, Superior Nurses Association and Wisconsin Nurses Association.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, George in 2007; grandson, Ben Sislo; and sister, Joan.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Meyer of Evergreen, Colo., Margaret Sislo of Superior and Teresa Sislo of Foxboro; sons, Paul Sislo of Granite City, Ill. and Peter (Jan) Sislo of Dolthan, Ala.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Gail Szeremeta of Roseburg, Ore.; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, in the Downs Funeral Home 19th and Ogden where there will be a Scripture service at 6:00. Visitation will resume at 9:30 until the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with Rev. James Tobolski celebrant in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Monday, May 21. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
