The Superior High School boys golf team wrapped up play in the Lake Superior Conference with a third-place finish. Hermantown won the team championship with a score of 634. Duluth Central came in second at 657 and Superior was a stroke back at 658.
Individually, Superior’s Chris Rochon finished in second place with 34 points. Duluth Marshall’s Derek Farrell finished first with 43 points. The two were joined on the All-LSC team by Shane Bowen of Duluth Denfeld, and Taylor Sumbom, Owen Stauber and Andy Krasaway of Hermantown.
Also for the Spartans, Nolan Holcombe finished with 19 points, Daniel Burger had 12, Blake Johnson had nine and Spencer Sitek had four.
Holcombe finished strong for Superior, finishing in third place at the Lakeview event and then sixth at Tuesday’s final event at Lester Park.
Up next for the Spartans is the Virginia Invitational at 9 a.m. today. They will also compete in the Northern Invitational at 9 a.m. Monday and then the WIAA regional tournament Tuesday at New Richmond.
