Tiger boys and girls finish in second place at HON meet

The Bloomer Blackhawks swept the boys and girls team titles Tuesday at the Heart O’ North Conference track and field meet, which was hosted by Chetek.

The Bloomer boys had 157.5 points, while Northwestern was second with 130.

The Bloomer girls finished with 149 points. Northwestern placed second with 139.5, followed by Hayward with 139.

Northwestern’s Ryan Lind won the 800 in 2:06.06, and he ran second in the 1,600 in 4:50.05. Devin Holly cleared 11-6 to win the pole vault.

The Tiger boys won three relays. Northwestern’s 800 relay set a facility record in 1:34.95. The Tigers won the 400 relay in 46.26, and they won the 3,200 relay in 9:07.78.

Northwestern’s Tess Nelson set a facility record by winning the 100 high hurdles in 15.87. Nelson also cleared 5-0 to win the high jump. Lynsey Anttila took the 300 low hurdles in 51.76 with Nelson placing second in 52.98.

The Tigers also went 1-2 in the pole vault with Logan Holly setting a facility record by clearing 10-0. Mariah Nelson was second with an 8-6.

Jordan Johnson won the 1,600 in 5:18.88.

Up next for the Tigers is the WIAA regional meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Frederic. The top four finishers in each event will advance to the sectional meet, which is in Medford on May 24.
