Do those of you who signed the recall petitions for Gov. Scott Walker know anything about the improvements he has already made in Wisconsin?
He turned a $3.6 billion state deficit into a surplus. Wisconsin was facing one of the largest deficits in state history. Walker’s budget projects a surplus. This is the first time we’ve had a surplus in more than 15 years.
For the first time in six years, school tax levies went down. According to the Legislative Fiscal Bureau, the total K-12 tax levy decreased by more than $47 million for the 2011-2012 school year after Gov. Walker’s reforms.
For five years prior to the governor’s reforms, the statewide average school tax levy increased $220 million per year for a total of $1.1 billion.
Walker’s reforms are saving all of us taxpayers big money. If you like seeing your taxes go down vote for Scott Walker on June 5.
