Sen. Bob Jauch, D-Poplar, and Rep. Nick Milroy, D-South Range host a Veterans’ Listening Session in Superior along with John Scocos, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).
“We owe it to the men and women who serve us in the military to make sure that the programs we have in place to provide them assistance when they get home are effective,” said Jauch. “This listening session will help us make sure we are meeting that obligation.”
“The DVA will have benefit specialists at the event to provide information about benefits that are available to veterans and their families,” said Milroy. “It’s imperative that we continue to reach out to the men and women who have served our country to ensure that their voices are heard and their concerns are met.”
“The State of Wisconsin is committed to providing the highest level of support, benefits and services to our nation’s heroes,” Secretary Scocos added. “The best way we can make sure we are successful in this effort is to get out in the state and listen to what veterans have to say and then adjust according to their needs.”
The listening session runs 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center. All veterans and family members are encouraged to attend.
