Michael L. Walter was named 2011 Civilian of the Quarter at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. Selection was based on his exemplary duty performance, job knowledge, leadership qualities, teamwork, significant self-improvement, personal achievements, notable accomplishments, and community service and support.

Walter is a safety and occupational health specialist assigned to the 28th Bomb Wing. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd A. Walter of Drummond, Wis.
