Twin Ports Woman of the Year luncheon features media personality

This year’s event will be held at noon today at the Radisson Hotel Duluth, Harborview.
“Looking Back and Looking Ahead with Cathy Wurzur of MPR” will be the theme of this year’s program. Wurzer is the senior anchor/host of morning edition on Minnesota Public Radio. She also co-hosts Almanac, a weekly public affairs program produced by Twin Cities Public Television for Minnesota’s statewide network.
Wurzer has won four Emmys and is the author of “Tales of the Road: Highway 61.”
This year’s nominees for 2012 Woman of the Year and their sponsors are Mary Bittner Bowker, American Association of University Women and the Duluth Retired Educators Association; Susan Bussa, Altrusa International; Jean McKinnon, Duluth Woman’s Club; Cari Reder, Douglas County Historical Society.
Young women from area high schools are honored also for their volunteer work in their schools and communities.
