To the Telegram:

We have a bit of a problem here in the 7th Congressional District.

We have a fresh congressman who promised financial resolve and delivered the usual instability. Sean Duffy voted to give President Obama the authority to raise the debt ceiling $2.1 trillion to which the president obliged; a political blame game that makes us all big losers holding the bag.

Duffy also voted to extend the controversial payroll tax cut and here again, like it or not, we are on the hook for it because it undercuts a broken Social Security system and further accelerates the national debt at an increasingly alarming rate.

For those thinking that there is another option, here’s your kick in the pants. The only announced challenger so far, Democrat Pat Kreitlow, is likely to fully support and continue these actions as they are the same actions and beliefs of the Obama Administration and the majority of Democrats in Congress.

As of now, neither candidate faces a primary opponent, which is unfortunate.

Here’s what I am proposing to voters that want more than just the same old politics. With your help in acquiring the necessary signatures by the June 1 deadline.

I would be honored to give Sean Duffy the proper vetting that he needs to defend his fiscally unsound voting record. Visit www.votefordon.com for easy to follow instructions and complete information necessary to achieve this goal. I am truly humbled and thankful for past considerations in 2010 and future opportunities. Together with a little effort this can happen.

Don Raihala,

Superior
