Nadine E. (Ross) Johnson, 75, Grand Forks, N.D. and formerly of Superior, Wis., passed away surrounded by family Thursday morning April 26, 2012, at Altru Hospital, in Grand Forks after a recent struggle with heart complications.
Nadine E. (Ross) Johnson, 75, Grand Forks, N.D. and formerly of Superior, Wis., passed away surrounded by family Thursday morning April 26, 2012, at Altru Hospital, in Grand Forks after a recent struggle with heart complications.
Nadine Esther Ross was born Dec.1, 1936 in Superior, to Harry and Stella (Hoffman) Ross. She attended St. Anthony School and graduated from Superior East High School in 1954. She worked as a photo colorist for Drysdale Perry Studio after attending classes at Jean Kroeger Hunter School for Colorists in Rochester, Minn. She moved to Grand Forks, N.D. in 1974, and went on to work at United Hospital, working as a patient accounts representative for over 25 years until retirement.
Nadine was devoted to her family. She raised two sons, Raymond and Scott, and later her granddaughter, Sarah. Her happiest times were spent with family. She was a breast cancer survivor. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking, reading, playing bingo, going to the casino, and playing with her beloved dog Bailey.
Nadine is survived by sons, Raymond Ross of Superior, and Scott Johnson of East Grand Forks, Minn.; her grandchildren, Shantel (Ross) Roeber, Adam Ross, Sarah Johnson, Branden Ross, Talles Ross and Christopher Ross; 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Bill (Judy) Ross, Lake Amnicon, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Stella (Hoffman) Ross, and a brother, Harry Ross Jr.
Funeral service was held May 1st in the Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel. Internet will be held 11 a.m. June 9th at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Superior. Reception will follow after at the Moose Lodge, 66 E. 5th Street, Superior.
