MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee County sheriff's sergeant is accused in a federal complaint of producing child pornography.
The complaint says Sgt. Philip Wentzel took photographs of young girls at a campsite he reserved in Campbellsport. Federal investigators say he shared the photos through an Internet peer-to-peer file sharing network.
The complaint says a search warrant executed last year in Denver, Colo., led investigators to images that originated in Wisconsin. WISN-TV reports the images included GPS data which led investigators to the campground located in Fond du Lac County. The complaint says authorities connected a camper in the campground, and eventually a cellphone and computer IP addresses, to Wentzel.
A phone message left for Wentzel was not immediately returned.
