The internationally acclaimed African Children’s presents the Young African’s in Our African Dream tour at 6:30 p.m. May 23 at Zion Lutheran Church. The Young Africans are a gifted group of singers, musicians and dancers who were all once a part of the world-renowned African Children’s Choir.

Now ages 17-21 and more talented than ever, they are poised to fulfill their promise and make a difference in their communities back home. They are thrilled to share what God has been doing in their lives. Our African Dream is a powerful and uplifting presentation that showcases the best of African dance and music, while bringing new, vibrant life to American spirituals, contemporary worship songs and gospel.

Proceeds from concert performances allow the African Children’s Choir to raise global awareness of the plight of millions of orphaned and abandoned children in Africa. Donations directly support the expansion of sponsorship and education programs for current choir children and thousands of other students they represent.

The Music for Life Institute’s (MFLI) purpose is to help create new leadership for tomorrow’s Africa. Working in seven African countries, MFLI has educated over 52,000 children and impacted the lives of over 100,000 people through its relief and development programs during its history. The African Children’s Choir is MFLI’s major international program. In addition to education the Choir finances numerous relief and development projects throughout Africa, including the Music for Life Centers in AIDS-devastated South Africa, and food relief containers to war-torn Sudan. Concerts are free and open to all. A free-will offering is taken during the performance to support African Children’s Choir programs.
