Tigers win Superior Invitational; host Spartans finished fourth

The Northwestern Tigers earned another first-place finish Wednesday at the Superior Invite at Nemadji Golf Course.

Northwestern took top team honors with a score of 323, followed by Eau Claire Memorial with 327. The Spartans placed fourth with a score of 335.

ECM’s Nate Webb and Duluth Marshall’s Derek Farrell were co-medalists with rounds of 75.

Justin Alexson was the top golfer for the Tiger boys, carding a 76 to put him in a tie for third place with Superior’s Chris Rochon. Northwestern’s other three scoring golfers all finished in the top 10. Gabe Dinkel and Peter Lindsay both carded 82s to tie for eighth place, and Grant Pearson was one stroke back to tie for 10th place.

Superior’s Daniel Berger and Lukas Gall both carded 86s to tie for 18th place, and Nolan Holcombe finished in 20th with an 87.

Matt Hinaus and Paxton Paine also golfed non-counting rounds of 107 and 115, respectively.

The Spartans and Tigers will both compete in the Scott Miller Invitational today and Saturday at Hayward.
