TOWN OF LINWOOD, Wis. (AP) — Three people have died in fiery crash in Portage County of central Wisconsin that authorities say may be alcohol related.
The Portage County Sheriff's Office says it received a report just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday of a vehicle on fire at the intersection of Highway 66 and Birchwood Lane in the Town of Linwood.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that deputies found the vehicle fully engulfed. Power lines were down and a man who had been ejected was found dead outside the car. Once the fire was out, authorities found two passengers inside the car who had also died.
The Portage County coroner's office is working to identify the victims.
The sheriff's office says in a news release that alcohol is thought to be a possible factor on the crash.
